How much does it cost to maintain an Aprilia SL 750 Shiver?
A:(from Jose S)
I bought one.... I don't separate. So far, no real problems. Regular maintenance would be just like any other bike, oil changes, put on pads, fluids etc. Nothing special. For actual troubles, the bike has a two year undertaking. What I plan to do is keep the bike for two years, see what issues/troubles I have and evaluate selling it when the undertaking runs out. If I do have an issue with the bike, I plan to ask the dealer how much it would cost to fix the bike IF it wasn't in agreement. The early ones seemed to have a few problems but the later ones, most of the problems are sorted out. If you at bottom like the Shiver, get it. But don't expect bullet-proof reliability. If you want that, get a japanese bike.

As far as one is concerned, I used to have Japanese sportbikes and I hardly ever had any issues. But the look, riding form and soul of a Italian machine cannot be duplicated.

Experienced rider looking at Triumph Street Triple vs. Aprilia Shiver. Thoughts??
A:(from Joe Mama)
They well-grounded did a review of those two bikes in Motorcyclist. Depending on what comments you want to assent to with both bikes were good but had pluses and minuses depending on what you were looking for. I like the Happiness but for handling they liked the Shiver.

Which one? Aprilia 750 Shiver, Triumph 1050 Speed Triple or a Suzuki Gsx-R750?
A:(from Jose S)
Engrossing choice of bikes. Your three choices fall into different categories. Also, if you destitution a bike for long trips, a naked might not be for you. But to answer your question....

Aprilia Shiver: Wealthiest Ergos for comfortable riding. The problems are first year teething problems and are mostly resolved. This is the bike I own. You might requirement to invest in a windscreen (aftermarket... I have the Aprilia optional windscreen and it does hardly anything) if you plan on doing any touring.

Triumph Speed Triple: Much more close riding position than the Shiver. Much more powerful and definatley a blast to ride. Might scarceness to look at the STREET Triple. That was my other choice in bikes. The street has more power than the Shiver but, still, it is a more crowded riding position.

GSXR-750: excellent bike but a crowded riding position that is worse than the triumph. So for long trips, I would say not.... unles you are contented on your ZX-10 on road trips.... speaking of which, if you are planing on keeping the ZX-10, why look at a GSXR??

Might demand to look sport touring class bikes if you are planning large trips. But from your choices, the Shiver is a blast to ride, comfortable riding belief, and great handling. The Shiver is the most practical Street bike on your list. Its sorta a do-it-all bike that can engrave the canyons with the best of them and then hunker down for a long road trip. Yes it had some problems but understand the forums and they have been mostly sorted out. There is a 2 year unlimited mile warranty and roadside support plan that comes with the purchase of the bike.
