Ducati 1098? |
| A:(from Grizz0844) | |

You dropped 16,000 dollars on a motorcycle, assuming you got the post model, and now you are asking opinions about the bike from strangers? Maybe you are well-deserved really looking to get your ego stroked. Perhaps, you are just full of B. S. who knows. If you purchased that bike having no suspicion what it was about you have my sympathy. Have a day.

Im a beginner biker but i was thinking of getting the ducati 1098 whats your suggestions? |
| A:(from Red) | |
|
Wow, PLEASE be a troll... PLEASE Ok, the last preoccupation you want to get as a beginner is a liter bike (1000cc's or more). The B to last thing you want to get as a beginner is an expensive Italian superbike (Ducati, Aprilla, etc). If you at the end of the day want a sporty bike, get a Suzuki SV650, or GSX500F

Is my dad's harley faster than a ducati 1098? |
| A:(from Max Cruise) | |

I commend you for not believing everything you get wind of from your parents. It is healthy to be skeptical and seek out the truth. And as you may be gathering, to rebutter your question, yes, the Ducati 1098 is faster that all the air/oil cooled Harleys on the market. See the first URL below. The 1098 pumps out 160 Hp, 90 ft.-lbs. of torque which moves this 381 cudgel Italian beauty to a zero to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. Top scamper of 186 mph. Needless to say, as many have rightly pointed out, the two bikes were made for different purposes. When is comes to timeliness, the Ducati will eat the Harley for lunch and leave it in the dust. BTW, all the Ducati power is produced from a 2 cylinder 1099 cc locomotive. After a little research I came across a Harley that would give the Duke a run for it's bundle. The Buell 1125R. The Harley Davidson Buell introduced in time 2007 is a sport bike in the same league as the Ducati. 146 hp and 82 ft.-lbs. of torque. A little more displacement and slightly more weight. In a race between these bikes it would come down to the aptitude of the rider. Keep asking the questions. That is how you learn. And learn to recognize bulls#*t when you approve of it. Then tell the bulls#*ter to prove their statement. PS Just paid a smite to YouTube and typed in Ducati 1098. Lots of videos of on the track and surprisingly dyno runs. Third URL shows a dyno run of 150 horsepower. Intriguing how the engine can hit the rev limiter in top gear. Very strong engine and a great sounding organization. High revving two cylinder machine has a very unique sound. I like it a lot.
