I was fair wondering what the 0-60 MPH (0-100 KM) time for a ducati 848 was. i know that the 1098's then is an incredible less them 2.5 seconds. But since the ducati is lighter then the 1098 and it has a LOT of torque would that run it around the same even though it has a smaller engine?

Vandalized, Insurance and park it somewhere where a lot of people will see it. Someone will most likely be deterred from vandalizing it if celebrity else will see them.

I hunger for to but the new ducati 848. Yes it's not bigger than 1000cc's and I figure its powerband would be a gifted first bike to start out with. Yes I'm a beginning rider. Yes I think the hayabusa is toooooooo nutty as a fruit cake even for experienced riders. I don't want your average 600cc bike and desire to stay away from the Jap bikes. No offense to any owners. I've always loved and appreciated the italian styling.

Do yourself and your one's nearest a favor and get something else to learn on. This is a full blown race bike built to check the limits of the best riders in the world. It will get you into trouble so fast you won't recollect what happened. Start small, learn, move up. You need to walk before you run. A 600 cc caper bike is fast as he!! and still way over the head of a beginner, don't kid yourself. Some will put out 125 HP and rev to 15k rpms, that is crackpot fast.

Ducati is the only way to go. GSX-R wll be cheaper and easier to find parts, but you'll be rightful like the other 1000 guys on the road that day, wearing flipflops and ski goggles.
