Ducati 999? |
| A:(from cranksinatra) | |
|
My answer would be a carbon photocopy of the first guy's. The 999 is a beautiful bike - great on the traces, but horrible on long rides, due to the aggressive riding position. (more so than any other SS I've ridden). Also require sure you get a bi-posto (2 seater), sure the mono posto is more risqu, but you WILL have females wanting to go 2 up. - Believe me, Ducati's are a hot bike. Since I've owned mine, my Girlfriend has no petition to ride the Harley. If you've got the coin, - go for it.

Can I put ducati 999 bodywork on my 900SS? |
| A:(from lez k) | |
|
It won't deep down fit. The 999 has a radiator and under seat exhaust. The 900ss has higher helve bars. The head lights and mounts are very different. The bikes have heart different frames so the body mounts will not line up. And the tanks won't sit or mount the same. It will be a bit high-priced, but go ahead and "customize" your bike any way you want!

how do i change my oil ducati 999? |
| A:(from ducatisti) | |
|
Oil changes on the duc can be gumption wracking, even for an experienced owner/mechanic. You will need to remove at least your moderate cowling (fun....mistakes are expensive here), and have some not so basic tools to hand to complete the job. I strongly recommend purchasing a shop manual if you project on doing basic services like this for your italian sweetheart. One excellent thing I found last year was K&N makes an oil filter with a nut molded into the bottom - this means no oil sprain hassles, just an allen-head socket on a ratchet and you're set. Very amiable! Good quality filters too. As far as which oil, ask your dealer. What you use (as long as its good property) isn't nearly as important as how often you change it. Use a torque wrench to tail the drain plug when you're done. And always use a new crush washer. The K&N filters almost always come with a new o-ring for the filter and crush washer for the drain cavendish.

Which do you think is hotter, Harley Davidson motorcycle or sportsbike like a Ducati 999 & why? |
| A:(from bikernoj) | |

"Harley made in the USA..." out of Chinese parts. Even Buell figured out that they can't boost pretend a competitive engine and turned to Rotax for their powerplant. Rotax makes engines for Can-Am and Aprilia. Harleys are a dime a dozen. Everyone has a freakin' Harley, and the only feature left is the NAME and the IMAGE, and the people who fell for the hype. There are other manufacturers like Winning that make a better bike and only custom choppers are aesthetically consonant anymore. On the flip side, everyone has a freakin' Gixxer or an R6. Every wannabe squid asks the same tired out question about getting a racebike for their first one, and don't understand the capabilities or the consequences of such a preference. For speed and handling, no cruiser can even come CLOSE to a sportbike. It's like comparing an old Ford Bronco with jaded C-bushings to a Formula 1 car! There is a CONNECTION with a sportbike that you just don't get with an 800-lb, two-wheeled motor rest-home; like it's an extension of your body instead of something you ride. So for riding, it's sportbikes all the way for me. As for looks, there are superior bikes in both camps, and I love looking at all of them. However, the limited Ducati Desmosedici RR superbike is sex on wheels! It looks wildly just sitting there, and the overall design is so organic you'd asseverate it was alive. http://static.flickr.com/74/157893303_019d7f2c81_b.jpg Mmmmmm, Ducati.
