It never ceases to flabbergast me how middle aged men rush out and buy a Harley to look young and cool again...when most people who are genuinely unsophisticated and know whats cool, wouldnt been seen dead on an old mans faction like a Harley!They all dress the same and must practice for hours in front of the mirror to get that special 'Harley Gawk'! Harley davidson make more money from merchandise than they do from their bikes, thats because these lemmings have to buy the harley purse, jacket,boots, helmet, mug...and lets not forget those pathetic tassely panniers! They all evaluate their 'riders at the gates of dawn'...when in reality most of them are in truth 'members of the local guild of commerce'! Full period dentists-weekend rebels....its just so cringeingly embarassing to observe at times...can they not see what a joke they look!They really believe that those of us who dont have Harleys are neutral jealous because we obviously cant afford one...they really do believe this!!

it has 12,000. miles, new booze it up, solid back rim, wide glide front forks, after market handle-bars, and pleasingly mirrors, screaming eagle pipes, no oil leaks,, looks grand, just don't know bout the price..please advise...

Perhaps this assuredly question is better suited to the Culture board, but I thought I would ask you guys first... And, Im not worrisome to be mean or upset anyone - this is a valid question.

I commute to work commonplace on a naked bike. 60 miles round trip. I am no droop and I like to have fun on the way to work...

Daily, I always end up behind another slower moving bike. And, every things, they always see me and give me room to pass while waving me by. Except for black guys riding Harleys.

Every one time I get behind a black guy on a Harley, he has his music jammin, he is revving the crap out of his motor because he wants all the cars to read e suggest room for HIM, and he looks at me in his mirrors - and continues to block the entire lane making it inconceivable to pass him.

WTF? What is it with them? White guys on Harley never act like this - they might not see me at first, but once they do, they always give me room and wave. But, not evil guys. They will mean-mug you and continue to drive in the middle of the space between cars, not allowing you to obsolete.

Anyone have any idea why they ride like this?

srt4 - I passed him on the rear end wheel with my finger in his face, once I was able to find a place - after being stuck behind him for over 5 miles (lifeless stop traffic in the Bay Area.)
msverychocolate - I never said they shouldnt sit on Harleys. I dont care what anyone rides. This is a simple observation I have made while riding. If that makes me a racist in your eyes, so be it. I am not one. In incident, I am a Civil Rights Investigator. So, kindly STFU as you havent a inkling what you are talking about.
As a matter of fact, I have several black friends who DO ride cavort bikes and naked bikes - and no, I wouldnt say that about them. They always allow me to pass as well.
Christ, how many of you people do not pay notice? How the F am I supposed to pass a guy who is taking up the only three feet of space on the entire freeway, between two cars? I never said this was a Harley in one lane and a car in another. I unequivocally explained that this guy is trying to split lanes while I am successful at splitting the lane and I am getting stuck behind him. Sheesh. Pay concentration, people.
