Amie...	Do you think a harley davidson sportster 883 low is to big to be my first motorcycle? I'm a 21 year old female, 125lbs and 5'6ft. I lately bought my first motorcycle a couple days ago for christmas. I have always rode smaller ground bikes but never drove heavier motorcycle.I got a harley davidson sportster 883 low, do you think it's to big for me or not. Don't get me evil it's my new baby and i'm keeping it, just wondering.

oysterc...	Why do some think a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 is a girls' bike? Is it the look/flair of the bike? Is it because it's only 883 cc? I was told you can bore it out and make it a 1200, and the only alteration between an 883 and a 1200 is the amount of chrome. I was just wondering why some people see the Sportster 883 as a girls' bike. I'd love to have a motorcycle, preferably a Harley or an Indian (they're back in biz), because they're American-made motorcycles. And I don't fix much money so the only thing I can afford is a Harley Sportster 883. And i really don't heed what other people think, I just want to ride. But I was just nosy as to why people think an 883 is girly.

Because it is the smallest, least intense and lightest of the Harley line. This makes it the logical choice for a girl that wants a Harley. You cannot " Nuisance "a 883 to make it a 1200, you can however put 1200 jugs on a 883.

it's all gonna be about your own cheer, go try them both and slap the sh*t outta anyone that picks on 1 vs another because of bias.... this is your preference, not anyone else's i propel a sportster 1200, my father-in-law rides a 750 honda i prefer mine, he prefers his... but both have righteousness points, i'd love his big tank and bigger forks, he'd dear one my torque and sound and the image he sees my bike to have

wild1hi...	How do I adjust the carburetor on my 2002 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster? My 2002 Sportster is sneezing,coughing and everybody tells me I exigency to adjust my carb. but I really don't know how too.I've tried new sparkplugs but that's not working.Where I conclude it's hot during the day & like 50 degee's at night when I ride & I live in a anticyclone altitude area (mountains) I don't whether this makes a different or not but some people say it does.

Before you manage any adjustments on the carb, check your intake seals. You can check them by spraying carb cleaner around them or using an unlit propane torch. Keel over the gas on on the propane torch but don't light it. With the engine running put the tip of the propane torch into the vicinity the intake manifold seals and listen to the engine. If the engine RPMs variation there is an intake leak. If there is no intake leak, then you may be able to fix the sneezing by fattening up the shiftless (turn the idle mixture screw counter-clockwise) but most plausible you need to change the main jet. scarface	how can i test the charging system on a Harley Davidson sportster 883? i prerequisite to know why i am finding a dead battery its only had 8month from new and its happened three times ,and i would like to do a few try out before i take it to the dealer .when my friend did some voltage test across the battery terminals and started the machine(i had to recharge the battery) it was giving 15v to 18v .with the battery out should i get a continuity reading across the terminals ??? thanks

You be sure that old idea, if something doesn't work, why do people keep doing it, expecting a divers reaction? Well, that's what you are doing. Your batteries are a symptom of something else being wrong.Check you connections, but it sounds like your regulator to me. I've included a unite of links that should help you out.
