Spanky... 		What engine upgrades could i do to my 2002 Harley Sportster 1200?
I bought, and recently paid off, a 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200. I assume the previous owner installed the "Stage 1 kit" from HD, and some D Shack slip-on slant-cut mufflers (sounds SO much better than works sportsters do).

Now that i have paid it off, i am considering putting a good chunk of lolly into the engine for fun. It has 11,500 miles on it. My friend showed me his father's slenderize older sportster, which had 4-valve heads, and a dual carburetor setup (one on each side of the bike) which was incredibly collected. I really want to put this sort of setup on my bike, please help me find where it is readily obtainable from, for my model.

Also, i have occasionally seen turbo and blower kits on eBay, any benefit looking at?

Do they make aftermarket exhaust systems that could give my sportster exhaust on each side, like the bigger bikes have? Preferably with turnouts.

My budget is $5000, and i have a ally with a bike shop to do the labor cheap. Any other reccomendations?

there are tons of things you can do to your bike to deliver the goods a succeed it go faster. get to know names like zipper and storz; they both specialize in making sportsters go fastened. dont listen to the cotch-rocketeers when they tell you harleys are untrustworthy and slow. yes they are dinosuar technology. and we like it that way :-) sportsters hang on to land speed records in their class, and when you compare apples to apples they absorb their own against anything out there. join the yahoo sportster ownersgroup and fire away with your questions. there are lotsa cooperative folks there who will point you in the right direction. also go to www.sportster.org and read the incredible amount of info there. these are the guys that set the realty speed recordfor our class! dude, 5K is a BIG budget for making a sportster go faster. HAVE FUN!!

Jesse V 		Anyone know of a good (loud) aftermarket exhaust for a Harley davidson?
I have a 2004 sportster 1200. Aright now it has screaming eagles on it but its not as loud as i want it to be.
I know there are a lot, but i want the loudest. If you have the loudest sportster around your obstruction then want brand did you use?

I have a set of Rinehart Racing pipes on my 2003 Sportster. Everyone tells me it's very loud, but I haven't heard that yet - you know how different things unscathed ON the bike.

Mine is built up too, compression makes a difference in sound - so do the cams. But I like it a lot, so do other people - the people who don't like it, don't event.

I bought, cut up, and built a sweet two into one pipe for mine from a Buell - Looked effing frightening too. But I got the Rineharts because I love the fat pipe look and black tips - heard they sounded assassin and they do.

My stock pipes with the baffles drilled out pissed off a guy I knew because my Fashionable sounded better than his BIG TWIN with Screamin' Eagle!!

I'm account changing out my original factory exhaust for something louder. I have a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200. I don't indigence it to be really loud, just middle of the road. Any suggestions on trade name and type?
