Valve Closing, Overlay, & LCA
As I said earlier, and it bears repeating, the LCA affects valve overlay around TDC. In addition, the LCA establishes the amount of intake or exhaust valve closure bog down beyond the theoretical end of the relevant stroke.
As the piston descends to the bottom of the cylinder, but before it reaches the bottom, the run through valve begins to open. Most of the fuel and oxygen in the combustion assembly room has been burned. Cylinder pressure will begin to push these burnt fritter away gases out into the exhaust port, exhaust headers, and into the mufflers. After the plunger passes bottom dead center (BDC), it begins ascending the cylinder on the gas stroke. This upward action forces out the remainder of the pooped exhaust gases to make room in the cylinder and combustion assembly for the fresh, clean charge of air and gas. As the piston moves toward the top of the cylinder, the already birth exhaust valve goes through maximum lift and begins to intimate. Just before the piston reaches TDC, the intake valve begins to palpable but the exhaust valve is not yet fully closed. Theoretically, this should not labour unless other forces of physics assist, like the Maxim of Momentum. The piston’s exhaust stroke is removing equitable about all of the spent charge by the time the piston approaches TDC. However, justified before this, the intake valve begins to open slowly and scavenging begins.
Scavenging is how the machine flushes out all of the spent air/fuel charge. The remaining vent gases rushing out into the exhaust will draw in the start of the novel intake charge. Conversely, the developing momentum of the intake claim also assists in pushing out the remaining exhaust gases. It becomes a symbiotic undertaking, first with exhaust pulling and then the intake pushing. Again, some of the new intake storm gases may escape into the exhaust. Thus, the valve opening and closing timing is critical.

'06 was the last year for the TC88, and the first for the 6 Shoot. As the last year of the engine, it's tried and proven. There are all sorts of parts ready if you need (or just want) them. I have heard of heat issues with the larger 96. I like the fastness of having an 88. While the trans is still proving itself, mine has given no problems at all. I like it.

They are so like it would be best if you sat on them to check for how they feel to you. Both have the exposed rear shocks that drive quite well and the 19inch front tire that is more stable than the tall skinny 21 inch sap of some other harleys. The new bikes now have a 96 inch motor and a six speed trans. Big leftovers! You should have no qualms about buying a Harley. Mine now has 65,000 miles on it and it runs even better then when new. It gets 45-50 mpg and it has only had one trouble that needed to go to the dealer in all those miles. The front fork bearings were replaced under undertaking. I paid $16,500 for my wide glide in april of 2000 and it is still worth about 13,000. You won't get resale like that on a japanese bike. | |

first off I over nada.com runs an older section if you check the site and look at the antiuq allocate. Also I was looking at one the other day at the harley shop, It was not theirs but they said the lady whose husband owned it before he died was asking $7200 ( it was an 81) Our Harley research here is very helpful in getting list prices for the customers when they ask.
