You have to restrict with the state D.O.T. that you live in.

SOME states let you ride them at age 14, but NOT if it is over 49cc, then you have to have a regular driver permit.

I am by the skin of one's teeth wondering because im getting a scooter as i am 16 and needed to know what is the difference between the two. Also could anybody announce me what kind of BHP a 50cc moped/scooter would have? And does anyone know if the 'pulse lightspeed' is a worthy scooter/moped? BOTH WILL USE PETROL FROM Cardinal TANK
MAIN DIFFERENCE IS THAT
4 STROKE ENGINE NORMALLY HAS A SUMP WITH OIL IN TO LUBRICATE THE INTERNALS OF Appliance/GEARBOX
2 STROKE REQUIRES 2 STROKE OIL BE MIXED WITH THE PETROL, TO LUBRICATE THE INTERNALS OF THE Appliance/GEARBOX. THIS IS DONE BY A SECOND SMALL TANK UNDER SEAT AND THE TWO ARE MIXED At most BEFORE ENTERING ENGINE CAN MEAN CARRYING SMALL CAN OF 2 STROKE OIL. BUT IT DOES THE SAME JOB OF LUBRICATING THE INTERNALS. THE 2 Soothe WILL REV HIGHER THAN THE 4 STROKE AND SMELL OF GRASS OR AT LEAST IT DOES TO ME.
THE BHP Decamp NO DIFFERENCE AS, AS A MOPED IT CANNOT LEGALLY GO MORE THAN 30MPH

If it's a 2 stitch and most 50cc scooters are, you don't need to change the oil. The oil is pre-mixed with fuel (via the oil tank) unequal to a 4 stroke that uses sump oil that requires scheduled changing.
