Piaggio X9 250 SL redux

After over a year on the X9 250 and 12,000 miles it was getting elongated in the tooth so regrettably had to go. It has been a please to ride. The replacement is ... er ... almost in all respects the same, an X9 250 SL in Imperial Blue. More on my year on an X9 250 any minute now, and some observations on how different two bikes that are the same can be!

How do you reset the onboard computer of a Piaggio X9 from Kilometers to Miles?
A:(from fire_inur_eyes)
Very likely the book or the dealer will tell you.

I have a Piaggio X9,front tyre goes flat when cold. How do you cure it?
A:(from Yesugi)
It's either old rubber or it's not seated fittingly. Take the wheel off, remove the tire, and inspect the rim. You probably have dirt, inform, or rust/corrosion on the rim. Get the rim polished and repainted if necessary. Check the rubber for signs of old age, scrub it glabrous, or replace if you have to.

If the wheel is dented, follow the manufacturer's commendation on repair or replacement.

I don't know if you have a tube in there. If you do, just renew it with a good one.

The easiest thing to check is your valve stem seal, but since the pest is temperature-related, that's probably not your problem. Good fortune.

suzuki scooters for sale on ebay 400-650 or piaggio x9 500?
A:(from Tinker)
Do you privation Beauty or the BEAST? Practicality!

If beauty, pick the Piaggio, if you want Horses, pick the Burgman 650. I'd pick the Burgman 400, myself. It's almost as loosely as the 650, better handling around town, better STORAGE under the tushie, so its a lot more versatile.

Run down to the store on a hot summer day, get a loaf of bread and a gallon of tap, where do you put them (Strap them to your luggage rack?

I don't think so, milk cartons don't take kindly to that strain of treatment nor do loaves of bread, so on the Burgman 400 put them under the seat!
