So what's infernal with your original equipment pipes? They give reasonable performance while keeping the din down to legal limits and don't wake up the neighbors when you start it up at 5 in the morning on your diurnal commute. Sure, you could spend $400-500 (US) on an aftermarket system that may give you one or two more horsepower, and cut your sustenance mileage by a MPG or two, and they will definitely be louder, but do you really want to spend $500 for tiniest benefit to yourself, and absolutely no benefit to your neighbors who are already reaching for the phone to call the cops to squawk about your excessive noise? Gee... Just think! YOU could be the straw that penniless the camel's back and caused the voters of your state to pass more laws restricting the use of motorcycles and making the establishment of ANY non-factory repair parts subject to huge fines and confiscation of your belongings. Don't think it can't happen here in the good ol' US of A, because it already has! Expedition smart, obey the laws and tone down the noise, because if you don't the cops will do it for you! | |
