Get the old style TRIALS tires, they will last a long time on the pavement. Well, they will last much longer than any dirt tire. I think Cheng Shin makes them to fit your bike. | |

The DR 350 was noted for cam chain problems, the guides wear out and the tensioner can't take up the slack. The basic engine design is very good and with proper care will last a long time, 9000 miles is not bad if it was all road use. I would have someone familiar with that model inspect it before you were to purchase it though. I just rebuilt a '99 DR200 engine that blew from the throttle being stuck open after a crash, the cylinder still had the crosshatch marks in it at 25000 miles.

If you just bought the bike, you don't need to take it for a test ride. Either buy a new ignition switch, or buy a blank key and bring the ignition switch & key to a locksmith. If you still want to know how to "hot wire" it, buy a shop manual. http://www.motocom.com/motorcycles/ | |

not sure but on a car engine u will get a bakfire if u have an exhaust leak, even a very small leak will pull cold air into the exhaust when u throttle bak, and cold air mixed with hot exhaust will pop and thus u have a bakfire, chek bolts on exhaust and/or spring tension if u have a spring retainer on the pipe

u have a clogged jet or fuel passage in your carb. remove carb and disassemble completely, then soak in parts dip for 1 hour, rinse parts with water and use compressed air to blow all passages and re-assemble. that should resolve your problem. (dont soak any rubber or plastic pieces)
