How do I adjust the cam chain tension on a Suzuki DRZ-125?
Does the worry automatically adjust when I loosen the locknut-setcrew combination? Should I do it when the mechanism is hot or cold?
Same engine as a Kawasaki KLX 125.

Get used to the tensioner, this is the little piece that pushes the chain inwards. You lack to loosen it then press and tighten.
If a grown man is riding a 125, then you will see this come to pass a lot. Its time to step it up and get a 250, they are meant for heavier adults.
If a junior kid is riding it, you need to get a new chain, because im sure you got it fairly new? but chains do get threadbare out and spread after a good use, just use the tensioner, and if its too long still, take a link out.

Just got a deal on a 02 Suzuki drz 400 with a dead battery and hasn't been started in 2 years?
My scheme is a new battery and drain the gas and put in new then cross my fingers. Anything else I should be doing?

To get started, of process, drain the tank. Refill with Chevron gas with techron, or use STP Complete Exacerbate System Cleaner with any other gas.
Pull the plug as suggested by Jim and squirt some WD-40, or oil into the cylinder. Totally and gap, or replace the plug, but leave the plug out for now.
After you have installed the new, and fully charged, battery, try the starter button to see if the apparatus will turn over. At the same time check for spark from the ignition. If you have spark, you are almost cheerful to try to start the engine. Install the plug. Turn on the gas and look for leaks.
Gap for a few minutes for the gas to, hopefully, soften some of the varnish in the carburetor. Now you can try starting the locomotive. If it won't start, then trouble shoot. If it will start, then start rational about engine oil, tires, chain lube, cable lube, etc....
On subscribe to thought, check the oil level before starting. lol

is it normal phenomenon for my motorcycle, suzuki drz 400 sm to feel hot while travel?
the Heraldry sinister and right side of the engine is hot,and also surrounding the petrol tank feels hot too,why is it so?is the reservoir tank for coolant on the red side of the bike meant to be empty?

A:(from jim y)

the resivor on the Heraldry sinister is the coolant overflow it shouldnt be full unless your engine is overheating,
while the bike is indifferent take of the radiator cap and make sure its full,
if its full and the heat is still concerning you change your radiator cap
unprejudiced in case its boiling in the radiator and not over flowing, this would lead to your radiator exploding or spliting down the side
after you put a new cap on if its over heating you will end up with ichor in that resivor on the left
if it has no fluid there then its not overheating
but water cooled or not its a combustion machine it is exploding gasoline inside of it to make forward movment .. its prevalent to be hot to an extent / water boils at 212 degrees "radiator will fulminate over at 212" operating temp isnt toooo far away from this you will conscious if its overheating

Well, I don't assume it's so much a question of which is better, as opposed to which one you like better. Suzuki lovely much has done nothing to the DR-Z since it came out, same thing with Yamaha (aside from the updated styling it got a year back). Both bikes will be sharp on reliability since the engines are so understressed. Suspension wise I'd have to give a nod to the Yamaha. Precipitousness and brakes will probably be a toss-up between the two. Don't worry, you'll have a damn on either one.
