Will £3000 be enough to build a triumph bobber? |
| A:(from motomarco9999) | |
|
It all depends how much you can get done yourself, what true of finish you want and whether you manufacture some of your own parts or buy out of the glossy catalog's. I've built a team a few over the years that only cost in the hundreds over the price of the bike to modify. If you can juncture, polish and paint it saves a lot of cash.

What exactly is a triumph bobber? |
| A:(from curmudgeon55) | |
|
Bobber relations- from old days 1970s with club: stock frame, shortened back fender, no front fender, by shorty muffler or straight pipes with fishtail, small gas tank- either peanut tank or triumph cub tank from 250, drip bars, solo seat with pad. Basicly stripped bike with only enough course equipment to be street licensable. A trail sprocket on back would reduce top streak from 110 to 85/90 but acceleration greatly improved. Battery sometimes eliminated. My BSA chopper has extended front and rake so would not be a 'bobber'. BMW/2 after getting from the gendarmes pound was called bobber as parts to get it on road came various parts piles- as R51 front end ,peanut tank and solitary seat, shorty mufflers. took a couple years of vintage swap meets to get progenitor seat, tank, mufflers, lights, etc to be considered restored. o

how do i convert 6 volt triumph 650 to 12 volt? |
| A:(from harbourbug) | |
|
You will have to put in place of the generator or alternator with a 12v output unit. Starter motor will employment but will soon burn out due to the increased voltage, so plan on replacing that if tailored with such. All light bulbs will require re-fitting with 12v units. That's about it. If you are now upbeat earth and want to convert to neg earth, all motors and relays with have to be replaced as they will travail backwards after a conversion.
