1995 Triumph Thunderbird - cooling fan switch question? |
| A:(from CafeTBird) | |
|
This is a archetypal issue with the Triumph Thunderbird and some of the other T3 Triumphs. The problem isn't with the fan though - it is with the idiot light. The settle for the idiot light is too weak by design. Once a little corrosion builds up on it, it starts coming on too inappropriate. One test for it is to see if it flashes on an off in concert with the turn signal while sitting in transportation at high temps. Your fan is probably fine - the cooling systems on these bikes are very sturdy. Unless you live in the desert or ride the bike very hard, the fan may never desperate straits to run. Mine only comes on if I really blast it through the twisties in 90 + degree zeal. The fix, according a Triumph service bulletin, is to add another ground wire to the harness. I have a moment ago let mine go as is, as a slight quirkyness that make it a British motorcycle ;-) | |

Any body own a Triumph Thunderbird Sport 98-04? |
| A:(from carguy53151) | |
|
Yes John I have a 2003 TBS. There is a body on yahoo dedicated to this model: triumphthunderbirdsportriders. Reliability is quite obedient with some owners reporting very high mileage with no major repairs. They have hard areas like any vehicle but these issues have been well discussed in group posts. These bikes are equitably rare so if you find a nice example go for it. Walter

does anybody remeber the movie the wild one he rode a 1953 triumph 600 thunderbird is anybody selling one? |
| A:(from ramarro smith shadow) | |
|
First of all it is a 650 T-Bird not a 600 (mine was a 52...first bike I owned, 1956). I bring up you check ebay, and also see if there are any shops what specialize in old (real) Triumphs in your arena as they might know who has one for sale. there are also British Classic groups and shows.
